Refund & Cancellation Policy

How refunds, cancellations, and event changes are handled on Right Events.

1. Overview

Right Events is a ticketing and event-management platform that enables organizers to sell tickets and manage attendees. This policy explains how refunds and cancellations are handled for tickets and orders purchased through Right Events. By purchasing a ticket, you agree to this policy and to the specific policy set by the event organizer.

2. Organizer-Set Policies

Each event is run by an independent organizer who may set their own refund and cancellation terms, which are shown on the event's page at the time of purchase. Where an organizer has published a specific policy, that policy applies to tickets for that event. Where an organizer has not published a policy, the default terms in this document apply.

3. Refund Eligibility

Unless the organizer's policy states otherwise, refund requests are considered in the following circumstances:

  • The event is cancelled by the organizer (see Section 6).
  • The event is postponed or rescheduled and you cannot attend the new date (see Section 7).
  • A duplicate or erroneous charge was made for the same order.
  • The request is made within any refund window published by the organizer on the event page.

Tickets are generally non-refundable after the refund window closes or once the event has started, except where required by applicable law.

4. How to Request a Refund

To request a refund, please contact us with your order number and the email used at checkout:

  • Email support@rightevents.cowith the subject "Refund Request", or
  • Reply to your order confirmation email, or
  • Contact the event organizer directly via their event page.

We will review eligible requests and respond, typically within 3–5 business days.

5. Refund Processing & Timeframes

Approved refunds are issued to the original payment methodused at checkout. Once approved, refunds are typically processed within 5–10 business days, though the time for funds to appear depends on your bank or payment provider (card, bank transfer, or other rails such as Paystack, Flutterwave, or Stripe).

6. Event Cancellations by Organizers

If an organizer cancels an event, affected ticket holders are entitled to a refund of the ticket price (excluding non-refundable fees where applicable — see Section 8). We will notify affected attendees by email and coordinate refunds with the organizer. Refunds for cancelled events are normally initiated automatically once the organizer confirms the cancellation.

7. Postponement & Rescheduling

If an event is postponed or rescheduled, your ticket will normally remain valid for the new date. If you are unable to attend the new date, you may request a refund in line with the organizer's policy or this policy, provided the request is made before the rescheduled event takes place.

8. Fees

Booking, service, or platform fees may be non-refundable, except where the event is cancelled by the organizer or where required by law. Any non-refundable fees will be indicated at checkout. For free tickets, no payment is taken and therefore no refund applies.

9. Disputes & Chargebacks

If you believe you were charged in error, please contact us first so we can resolve the issue quickly. Initiating a chargeback without contacting us may delay resolution. We work with our payment partners to investigate and resolve disputed transactions fairly.
